Power for All by 2019
Over 300 million Indians do not taking electricity to every home by
have access to reliable power supply. 2019, is also aligned to the UNSDG 7.
In 2015-16, per capita power In pursuit of this target, the

SABIC :
Saving Electricity with LED
Through innovation for sustainability, SABIC delivers material solutions that help customers lower their carbon
and energy footprints, eliminate waste and ensure strict compliance with global environmental regulations.
India’s 35 million street lights produce a demand of 3,400 MW which can brought down to 1,400 MW,
saving 9,000 million kWh of electricity annually. In the lighting sector, SABIC offers a variety of specialty
products for transparent, diffusive and heat management LED technology and lamp design applications.
SABIC’s family of polycarbonate (PC) resins, are helping customers in India’s lighting industry meet the
growing demand for more sustainable light-emitting diode (LED) lamp technology driven by the
government’s requirement to reduce energy consumption.
Thirumalai Chemicals :
Making Useful Product, Generating Steam & Electricity
Phthalic Anhydride is a versatile chemical used in the manufacture of paints, resins and plasticisers.
All of these are used in the Construction and Automotive industry. The downstream products of
Phthalic Anhydride replace the energy intensive metals & natural resource wood, offer light weight and
corrosion-free alternatives.
The beauty of Phthalic Anhydride manufacturing process is that it produces a lot of excess steam
that is converted in to electricity. The steam and electricity from this process is utlised, in addition
to consumption within the PA Plant, in the manufacturing of other downstream and food ingredient
products. TCL is committed to energy conservation. Such tuning up makes TCL an eco friendly
company, and saves the Government equivalent amount of electricity, and therefore, the natural
resources. By not consuming grid power, the company helps light up several villages in the Ranipet area.
