Leveraging Government Infrastructure to
Trigger Transformation
• 41 Aanganwadis across 32 villages transformed into Model Pre-schools
• Contemporary learning aids such as e-learning tools and games are
introduced to develop cognitive and motor skills of children

The importance of all round child development manifests itself in Project
Akshar‘s early engagement of children in our Aanganwadis. We are pursuing
the mission to trigger national transformation by catapulting these
Aanganwadis towards their original mission of preparing the children for school
education, Chambal has adopted these centres under "Nandghar" scheme of
ICDS department of Government of Rajasthan. Our Aanganwadi centres have
adopted the Kindergarten concept wherein the students are divided into LKG
and HKG based on their age. This concept helps in imparting age appropriate
learning to students. The Kindergarten clustering approach helped us
transform 41 model Aanganwadis across 32 villages into education seeding
centres. The toddlers’ learning abilities are strengthened by Aanganwadi
workers guided by trained teachers, preparing them for the formal education
system.

Our project area is one of the unique pre-school education cluster of Rajasthan.
Adoption of new and improved means of education has turned these pre
education centres into model learning centres for children. Our initiatives are
being replicated by the other Government Aanganwadis across Rajasthan.

Very often these centres operate with limited infrastructure that requires
maintenance and upgradation. CFCL has transformed the adopted
Aanganwadis into places conducive to child development and education
through lively rooms, functional toilets and child friendly furniture such as
round tables & low height chairs. A unique environment, enhanced with
educational wall paintings, e-learning aids, learning activities and toys to help
develop motor skills, find the fancy of the toddlers in these learning centres.
Mothers are provided a forum to share experiences and learn from CFCL
appointed experts.

Addressing the low enrolment and high dropout challenge, CFCL has run
several sensitization programs resulting in a significant increase in pre-school
enrolment .
